Juvederm™ is a hyaluronic acid gel which is injected into facial tissues to add volume and smooth away fine lines, wrinkles, and folds. Juvederm™ can also be used for general facial contouring and lip enhancement. It restores a smoother, more youthful appearance to the face and its smooth consistency creates a very natural look and feel. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural component of our skin, thus Juvederm™ is very safe.

How does Juvederm™ work?

The hyaluronic acid in Juvederm™ provides support and hydration to the skin to restore the skin’s volume and smooth texture. Dr. Mayo will use a fine needle to inject Juvederm™ into the dermis, which is the dense inner layer below the skin surface, or into the lips. This non-surgical filler can erase folds, wrinkles, and fine lines, fill sunken tear troughs, provide facial contouring, and rejuvenate or enhance lip architecture .

When is Juvederm™ used?

Juvederm™ comes in two formulations. Juvederm™ Ultra is indicated for mild to moderate wrinkles and folds. It can also be used for general contouring of the face and for lip rejuvenation/enhancement. Juvederm™ Ultra Plus is a larger molecule which is indicated for moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, and to restore volume. Once you and Dr. Mayo have determined your needs, your treatment will be tailored to achieve an optimal result. Juvederm™ does not contain animal proteins and allergy testing is not needed prior to receiving Juvederm™ injectable gel.

What are the results with Juvederm™?

Results are quite immediate following a Juvederm™ injection. Wrinkles and folds are reduced or eliminated and lip architecture will be restored and/or enhanced. You will look more youthful and restored with a natural look of health and vitality. Many clients will only need one treatment to obtain the desired results. These results typically last 1 year (occasional follow-up or touch up treatments may be needed to maintain optimal results).
