Radiesse® is a dermal filler which delivers longer lasting results. It is used to eradicate wrinkles, lines, and folds, as well as volumize, restore, or augment cheek and chin structure. Radiesse® also works with your body to stimulate new collagen formation.

How does Radiesse® work?

Radiesse® is comprised of tiny calcium-based microspheres suspended in an injectable gel. Dr. Mayo will inject the Radiesse® beneath the skin surface in a “scaffold-like” pattern which will provide the support needed to lift wrinkles and folds out or to remodel or restore your facial contours. Over time, the microspheres will stimulate new collagen formation on this “scaffold”. The calcium microspheres are safely broken down by your body and absorbed. The formation of new collagen provides the long lasting, natural, and healthy look of a Radiesse® treatment.

When is Radiesse® used?

Radiesse® is an excellent product for correcting moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, restoring the loss of volume and skin elasticity which occurs with aging, and augmenting facial structures such as cheeks and chins.

Collagen provides volume and structural support to our skin. As we age, collagen breaks down and decreases resulting in a loss of skin elasticity and the face begins to sag and wrinkle. The normal fat pads also shrink and sag, causing our cheeks to be less prominent and jowls to form. Thus, our faces begin to look “hollow”. Radiesse® is used to correct these unwanted changes which occur with aging by restoring our natural collagen support structure.

Radiesse™ is biocompatible and requires no allergy testing prior to injection.

What are the results with Radiesse®?

The desired results will be immediately visible after an injection of Radiesse® and a smooth appearance of youth will re-emerge. Furthermore, Radiesse® will stimulate new collagen formation. The results are long lasting, typically ~1year.
